This week went like this: I found an awesome recipe online for a chocolate bundt cake with buttermilk frosting. I then said to myself...gosh diggity dang I don't have a bundt cake tin. A few days later, I found this beauty for a couple bucks.
Not many people would get so very excited about a bundt cake pan. But, I did. Of course. I love that I wanted one and found one for $2. I love that. I love that someone else made a nice bundt cake in this pan. It's already been broken in. This bundt pan knows what's up already. And now it's ready to serve another baker.
Also: as mentioned previously, this week we also aquired a second-hand puppy. Thrifting at the local animal shelter is often very emotional and requires a lot of forethought. Not anything like shopping for a bundt pan. There is nothing like giving a home to an animal that has nowhere to go and no one to love it. This pup was dropped off at the shelter with several other litter mates. Nothing more is really known. We don't know her breed (but we are guessing perhaps Lab and Australian Shepard) or who gave the pups up. All we know is she needs us and we need her. Even more than we need a bundt pan.
Lastly, I found an awesome 40's solid wood chest today for $35. Very wonderful and all it needed was a paint job. I stood and looked at it for about 30 minutes. It wasn't exactly what I needed. BUT IT WAS $35!!!! And I had some credit at the store (from trade). I ended up passing on the chest. I will most likely regret this decision for my whole entire life.
And what have you to share this week?
