Wow! So much fun last week seeing what you all shared. Ya'll are killer thrifters. A few self-proclaimed dumpster-divers, even! I'm real proud, people. REAL proud.
I'm trying to become really picky in my purchases because a house can only hold so much stuff. I do replace things though. See, the amazing little side table I found this week is replacing a stack of small wooden boxes and chests I was using as a make-shift table. See? No guilt!! I actually needed a side table. (Who wants a bunch of boxes as a table, right?)
When my thrifting buddy E. saw this side table in my house the other night she said: Oh I KNEW that was new. I love it! It's so rad! And then her husband G. said I had....get this....a great eye. A GREAT EYE?????? ME???????? I almost passed out. I've never had a great eye. I always wanted a great eye. I know my eye is actually really perfectly mediocre and he had just consumed a few drinks. Still, it felt great because E. and G. are The BEST thrfiters in the world and I aspire to their second-hand brilliance. I will do a full-on post on them if they will let me. They are a little shy so they might not be into it. But I hope they do someday.
MUST SAY though, the table was a rad find. Not badly priced at all. Just the price of a really killer veggie burger at a high-end vegan place. E. says it's from the 70's or 80's. I never thought I'd love anything from the 80's. When I think of the 80's I think of my bad hair-do. People really made fun of me for that hair-do What jerks. Little did they know I would find this rad table years later and be told I had a great eye.
Also, see the sweet crocheted blanket? FREE. Yep. Clean and in what I call "perf cond" (perfect condition). Just hanging out on the free rack outside the place we call Pinky Doodie's. (You think I'm going to give the real name of the place? AS IF! Haven't I given you enough thrifting tips as it is?) Anyhoo, I think it must have been a mistake to put this beauty out there. Oh well! Mine now!
