Remember the end of yesterday's post about The Brad's camera? Well, yesterday evening I took a few shots around the house for fun and I used The Brads camera because, well... he was gone for the day working.
When he came home he said: Why is my camera on your desk?
And I said: I don't know maybe it's using the computer, or writing a letter.
Then we locked eyes for a long moment until I jutted my chin up and said: Got a problem with me Brad?
It's been a little tense around here. Brad is working more than usual and will be for an indeterminate amount of time. Enough said. On the bright side, it gives me time to work on my cooking skills. And on that note, I made a great roast chicken last night. I finally found a stall at the local farmers market that sells tasty (not sinewy) organic chickens that they cull themselves. Meat that was consciously raised and killed is the only meat I want to serve to my family. Period. We now have friends who are raising their own meat birds (and have goats as well) and when life gets a little less busy, I hope to take you on a tour of their farm. Very inspiring.
(taken with instagram on my iphone. why is everyone so into this? camera + is way radder)
Anyway...I also roasted some veggies. SO GOOD. I had never roasted broccoli before. WOW. Thanks to Alice Waters for her tips on roasting both chicken and veggies. Add a little rice and it's a perfect dinner.
Today alongside taking care of my kids and working a little bit from home, I plan to plant some more veggies and make a few more homemade cleaning products. And maybe steal Brad's camera a little more. Honestly, I really don't think he minds.
