I consider myself a clean person, but somehow I guess my consideration is wrong. I went to my parents this weekend and looked at their clean kitchen drawers. Clean kitchen drawers. So hard to get to, no? I mean when you have kids and messes and laundry that needs doing, who is going to actually take time out to clean the kitchen drawers. Well, I took the time this afternoon. Amongst the many crumbs and pieces of lint and such, there were also a few dead pincher bugs. Ew. Never will I fall to such a low level again. NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's ongoing. The upkeep. The beautifying. Trying to do things economically, environmentally, consciously.
I was economic with this chair (remember?) but now the bottom is leaking the filling. Ev. Ery. Where. Well, I had to put the damn chair outside until I can fix it. Economic as all get out and no place to sit my ass.
I went to World Market yesterday. I bought a new small rug and shower curtain. GOSH it felt good. I can not tell a lie.
Have you ever bought a used shower curtain? Thought not. Me neither. Nope, I went to World Market and got a very pretty NEW shower curtain. NEEEWWWWW and packaged. I also drooled at the cute cushy chairs while I was there, gazed longingly at their perfectly in-tact undersides. But $300? Really? Does it simply go against my moral sense of reuse/recycle? Or do I just not want to pay the darn money. Sigh. Even a hardcore thrifter has her crisis moments, people.
On that note, I am thinking of hosting an online yard sale this Thursday. (And totally ripping off the way this gal did it.) What do you think? I have some sweet little things to part with..... could be fun, you could even link to your own sales!!!!!!!
xoxo
