I've been trying to cleanse the ol' system a little bit. And you know the best thing for that, right? Greens. Do you remember how much I love greens? Here we have a lightly sauteed bowl of green beans and kale. Last night, however, we went to a friends house who had a four course French meal. Not so good for cleansing. But, very good for the soul. Sidenote: I could drink digestifs all night long. Know what I mean? Whoever decided to call a form of alcohol a "digestive" is brilliant, no?
Anyhoo, I thought I would just throw some pics of the chickens in today so you know I'm still a farmer. And a part of my garden that sorta lived through nights in the mid-20's.
Oh. And my dog, who really bothers us by bringing various shoes out into the yard and leaving them there to be rained on, or what not. There he is, just walking around with the shoe. Again.
Him: Hey mom, I got a shoe. Need a shoe?
Me: No dog. I DON'T NEED A F****** SHOE! OKAY?????? PUT THE SHOE BACK!
Sorry. I don't mean to sound horrible. But 10 years of this dog/shoe business is...well...it's really just a lot to deal with.
I'm going to take the rest of the week to get some more quilt tops done. Hey, I say don't knock it til you try it. I really need my free-motion foot though, so I can do swirly stitching! I'm waiting and waiting and it's supposed to come into the local sewing store. And I'm calling everyday.
I'm all: Is it in yet?
And they're all: Um. No.
And I'm all: Well, I'm getting really tired of waiting for it. People. Damn it! People!!! COME ON!!! What the hell is taking so long? I need to be free-motion quilting!
Don't you just really wish you could talk to people like that sometimes? Ya. Well you can't. It's not evolved. Lame, no?
I've noticed my house is a bit of a disaster since I started sewing. Kind of like having a new baby. C'est la vie!
