Thank goodness I remembered about folk art and the freedom to not have to make anatomically correct, "perfect" looking dolls. As some of you may remember, I tried a stuffed cat pattern a while back and it did not go so well. So, this morning I pulled a full U-Turn and set out to do a traditional rag doll in my my own way, without adhering to any of the patterns I'd been looking at, and I came up with Lucy Mae, the folk art cat.
If you can't join 'em, go a whole other way and let your cat have its own personality. I can't help but roll that way. Yes that's right, she has a little soft scarf and country dress and a floral tail. I'm thinking she likes to frequent the farmer's market and go out into the meadow and pick flowers.
Anyhow, I think that I've found a prototype of sorts to work with and expand on....
