Not much of a farm these days, sad to say. Ever since we had to give away the ducks, we became a little more ordinary. And that overgrown Winter garden doesn't help.
Still, those tomato seedlings on our windowsill are just going boing! With 24 of the little guys happy as can be to be out of that little tiny shell, I am most certainly going to learn to can tomatoes this Summer. YES! I love plans that involve homesteading! And I know you think I am showing you the same tomato seedling picture every week. NO. I am not. They are bigger every post, if you really check it out. You know how some people like to post pics of their newborns over and over and over and over until the kids are toddlers and beyond? Well. There you go.
I bought a few flower 6-packs from the local seed and feed that I'm very excited to see bloom. Heard of Jupiter's Beard? Me neither, but evidently butterflies love it. Yay. And see those wet eggs by the flower six-pack? Ya. I left a days worth of fresh eggs out in the rain. Some farmer.
We're going to move the chicken coop and the run and get started on gardening SOON. Just imagine starting a new fresh garden where chickens have been pooping for months. YES! THIS IS GOOD! DON'T YOU KNOW THAT? I'm very excited. I know I say that every week.
What are you doing to start your Spring/Summer garden? (Feel free to comment and/or post a link to a garden blog entry if you would like to share what you are doing, growing, starting (or dreaming of -if you're an East Coaster. )
Other tidbits:
I've added some inspiration to my Pinterest, farmy stuff and also home inspiration- if you like that kind of thing. (I do. I can get lost for hours on Pinterest if I'm not careful. And those are hours I could have spent in my own garden!) I am very choosy about the images I add to my boards because I must REALLY love them very much. Not like, but love. And there is a difference.
Making this right now!
Also: Man. I'd really like to go thrifting today. But I keep spending my thrifting money on material! I found this place and found many cool fabrics for 5.99/yd this morning! I haven't been thrifting or garage sailing (yes sailing), in weeks upon weeks. Sniff.
And that's a wrap. I think I will head into the world of fabric and dirt this weekend. Thread and compost. Children, sun, and nippy air. Have a wonderful one.
