A few photos from around the house this morning. It's been very hot here, a heatwave of sorts. Kind of fun. Kind of, well, hot. Too hot to exercise or walk the dogs. Great for a splash in the pool -- the same pool that will soon sit there lonely for a long series of months as Fall and Winter make their way.
I water my newly planted lettuce three times a day, because at this point, I only have plans for a successful garden. Nothing else will do. Flipping through a Sunset Magazine garden book the other day, I had my garden vision even more tightly focused. But, it's bit by bit, plant by plant.
Dreaming seriously of built-in bookshelves. We do a lot on our own around here, but we don't want to leave it ourselves to build bookshelves into the wall. (That could get ugly.) Built in shelves for our various piles of books is something I've wanted for a long time, in the previous house even. Stacks of books here, there and everywhere are waiting for their "forvever home." I'm hoping soon!
My office is as clean as it's going to get. Plans are to do a little work, visit the kindergartner for lunch, work some more, make lotion with the girls in the afternoon (so excited!). But actually, I really just want to go take a nap. The heat. Oh my. I think I may be looking forward to cooler days, soup, making (gluten-free) muffins and pancakes in the mornings.... I never thought I would be ready for Summer to change into Fall. And maybe I'm not. But what does it matter? It will come anyway. You know that phrase go with the flow? Pretty brilliant.
Are you ready for the Fall?
(p.s. a few more new pieces are in the Etsy shop today. All the pieces are in standard framing sizes, including a new 5x7 size!)
